The Staples Center in Los Angeles, California was home to a great night of fights, with three (T)KOs, one submission, and eight decisions, including two split-decisions.
Demetrious Johnson’s historic, record-setting run of 11 title defenses ended in a split-decision loss after a fantastic, razor-close fight against Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo. Cejudo immediately called out the bantamweight champion, because giving the most dominant champion in UFC history a rematch is for losers.
The card was, outside of the main and co-main event, underwhelming on paper, and no doubt it’ll end up drawing about 12 buys, but the fights delivered in a big way.
