The UFC 226 featured Fight Pass prelim bout between Dan Hooker and Gilbert Burns was one fans in the know knew was must-watch, as the bout promised fireworks.
And it didn’t take much time for the bout to deliver. Hooker (17-7) won a fast-paced, action packed lightweight matchup on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena, winning by knockout at the 2:28 mark of the opening round.
The victory was the fourth in a row for the New Zealander, all by way of finish.
Burns (14-3), who had one three of his past four heading into the fight, landed the bout’s first big blow with a loaded-up overhand right.
