New Zeland’s Robert Whittaker (185) has made championship weight to meet Yoel Romero in one of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s biggest pay-per-views in 2018 to date. Unfortunately, Romero did not hold up his end of the bargain on his first attempt.
Romero (186) was the last fighter to weigh-in Friday, and came in one pound over the championship fight limit of 185 pounds. He has two hours to drop a pound.
Meanwhile, the interim welterweight title will be on the line as Rafael dos Anjos (169) finally meets Colby Covington (169) in the co-main event.
