UFC 224 medical suspensions: Some of this doesn’t make sense

When you see a lot of long medical suspensions, that usually means that a UFC event had a lot of hurt fighters in the Octagon. Your average event in the United States will see a few 180-day suspensions and at least a few calls for x-rays. Brazil? Not so much.

CABMMA oversaw UFC 224 in Rio de Janeiro, and despite witnessing more than one fighter suffer debilitating injuries during the fight, it didn’t seem to trouble the people handling the medicals too much. In fact, only two fighters - both Brazilian and both in the top two fights on the card - received 180-day suspensions and notice for x-rays.
