Amanda Nunes, not Raquel Pennington, is the fighter facing a potentially lengthy medical suspension following their main event clash at UFC 224 on Saturday night.
Nunes, who defeat Pennington via fifth-round technical knockout to retain her bantamweight crown at Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, will be sidelined 180 days until she gets an x-ray of her right foot and is cleared. At a minimum she will be out 30 days with 21 days of no contact.
Pennington, meanwhile, appeared to have her nose broken in defeat and was bleeding badly before the bout was stopped.
