Rising bantamweight prospect Sean O’Malley had the most visible injury of anyone on the UFC 222 card, so it’s no surprise that he is facing a lengthy medical suspension.
The MMA Lab product earned a unanimous decision over Andre Soukhamthath in a featured bout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, but he was clearly hobbled by a leg injury in the third stanza, so much so that he did his post-fight interview on his back in the Octagon. O’Malley must have his right foot and ankle cleared by an orthopedic doctor or he will be suspended until Aug.
