The longtime UFC flyweight champion defeated Ray Borg on Saturday night in the co-feature bout of UFC 216.
Johnson ragdolled Borg for the better part of five rounds before a spectacular finish Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas: Johnson went to suplex Borg, then transitioned mid-air to an armbar for a submission victory. The time of the finish was 3:15 the fifth round.
That marked the 11th successful title defense for the Washington state native, surpassing former middleweight champion Anderson Silva’s previous mark of 10.
“Ray Borg was running his mouth saying my grappling game was garbage,” Johnson said.
