UFC 216 medical suspensions: Ray Borg, five others potentially out six months

UFC flyweight title challenger Ray Borg highlighted a list of six fighters to receive potential six-month medical suspensions in the aftermath of UFC 216, according to information released to MMA Fighting on Monday by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

Borg suffered a memorable fifth-round submission loss to UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson in the night’s co-main event. As a result, Borg will be forced to sit out a minimum of six months or seek orthopedic clearance on his right fourth finger if he wishes to return sooner, per NAC officials.

The five other fighters who received similar potential six-month suspensions were: Evan Dunham (blurred vision), Poliana Botelho (right elbow and right thumb), Matt Schnell (right forearm), Marco Beltran (right left thumb), and Thales Leites (right orbital fracture).
