EDMONTON, Alberta -- Most of the talk going into the UFC 215 featured prelim bout between Sara McMann and Ketlen Vieira centered around the idea McMann would be in line for a bantamweight title shot with a victory.
Instead, Saturday night was Vieira’s time to shine. The undefeated Brazilian shook off a slow start and finished McMann in the second with an arm triangle choke. The time of the finish was 4:16 of the second round.
“I took a lot of hard shots, it was a very hard fight, but I knew if I persevered the submission was there,” Vieira (9-0) said through an interpreter.
