Claudia Gadelha knows that she has to make a big impression if she’s going to get another shot at UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
And that’s exactly what she did on Saturday night at UFC 212. The Brazilian, who now trains at Albuquerque’s JacksonWink MMA, scored an impressive victory over Karolina Kowalkiewicz (10-2) on Saturday night, winning via rear-naked choke at the 3:03 mark of the opening round in Rio de Janeiro.
Gadelha took control of the fight from the get-go, got Kowalkiewicz to the mat, and patiently worked her way into position for the winning choke.
