Poor Ian McCall just can’t seem to catch a break. On Saturday morning, roughly six hours before he was to fight Jarred Brooks at UFC 208, the flyweight was pulled from the lineup with “gastrointestinal issues.”
“Flyweight contender Ian McCall has been removed from tonight’s UFC 208 bout against Jarred Brooks due to illness, the UFC expressed in a statement. “McCall was transported to a local hospital with gastrointestinal issues and was pulled from the card on the doctor’s recommendation.”
McCall’s tweet just prior to the UFC’s announcement doesn’t quite coincide with the explanation given.
I need spike shoes with all this ice… just my luck to slip and have some bad shit happy 24 hours before I get to play

Regardless, UFC 208 will proceed with 10 bouts.
