Although the “Fight of the Night” bonus only represents a fraction of their total earnings at UFC 202, for Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, the honor was well deserved.
McGregor and Diaz pocketed $50,000 apiece for their headlining welterweight bout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Eventually, their rematch will likely be up for “Fight of the Year,” as well. McGregor stormed out of the gates, dropping his foe three times in the first two frames. Diaz rallied in typical fashion, however, and he kept the pressure on his opponent for the full 25 minutes.
