It looks like Conor McGregor will eat his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) cake and have it, too.
Rather than defend the 145-pound title that he won with a 13-second first round knockout of long-time champion, Jose Aldo, McGregor will instead rematch Nate Diaz in the non-title, Welterweight main event of UFC 200, which takes place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sat., July 9, 2016 (more on that here).
As a consequence, UFC has decided to introduce an interim Featherweight belt, which Aldo and former Lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar, will vie for on UFC 200's PPV main card.
