“The Ultimate Fighter” Season 21 winner Kamaru Usman will no longer compete at UFC 198.
Ultimate Fighting Championship officials on Monday announced Usman’s removal from the May 14 event, which takes place at Baixada Arena in Curitiba, Brazil. A reason for the change was not specified.
Usman’s opponent, Brazilian welterweight Sergio Moraes, will remain on the bill against countryman and Octagon newcomer Luan Chagas.
Moraes, 33, is a decorated Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner in search of his fifth consecutive UFC victory. Since coming up short in the 2012 final of “TUF: Brazil,” Moraes has finished three out of four opponents, with two submissions and one knockout.
