Brazilian jiu-jitsu Welterweight wizards, Demian Maia and Gunnar Nelson, locked limbs tonight (Sat., Dec. 12, 2015) inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, to determine whose brand of grappling was superior inside the world-famous Octagon.
Score one for Brazil -- and it was not even really that close -- even though it was brilliant from both sides nonetheless.
Maia came out pumping a jab and then darted in for a shot against the cool, calm and collected Icelander, who reversed position before both men scrambled back to their feet in a clinch. Maia would not give up, though, holding onto a single-leg that Nelson once again used against him.
