MEXICO CITY -- Nate Marquardt’s spirit is still there, but his body doesn’t seem willing to cooperate anymore.
Kelvin Gastelum put the hurt on the former Strikeforce welterweight and King of Pancrase champion on Saturday night at UFC 188. Since referee Dan Miragliotta wouldn’t wave the fight off, Marquardt’s corner did it for him. Marquardt’s team didn’t let him come out for the third round, so the bout goes into the books as a TKO win at 5:00 of the second round for Gastelum.
"This was without a doubt my favorite fight, my biggest win," Gastelum (11-1) said.
