UFC 188 results: Kelvin Gastelum forces Nate Marquardt to quit on his stool in Mexico

Forced to compete at Middleweight because he could not consistently make the 170-pound Welterweight limit, Kelvin Gastelum mixed it up with former Strikeforce 185-pound champion, Nate Marquardt, tonight (June 13, 2015) at UFC 188 inside Arena Ciudad in Mexico City, Mexico.

And he looked sharp.

After some brief cautious exchanges, Gastelum began to find his mark about two minutes into the first round. He landed a nice straight overhand that backed up Marquardt, whose face immediately turned bright red. Gastelum landed a nice standing elbow on the break, compelling Marquardt to close the distance and avoid getting picked apart at range.
