UFC 185 186 PPV Buyrates: Not Pretty

The estimated pay-per-view buyrates are in for UFC 185 and UFC 186, and the results aren’t too pretty.  The injury-crippled UFC 186 card held in Montreal last month and headlined by Demetrious Johnson defending his UFC Flyweight Championship versus Kyoji Horiguchi wasn’t expected to draw flies, and it delivered in that aspect: Dave Meltzer reports it sold in the 100,000-125,000 range.

The sales results for UFC 185, however, have to be considered disappointing.  This was a stacked card – two title fights up top (Anthony Pettis getting upset by Rafael dos Anjos; Carla Esparza losing her belt to Joanna Jedrzejczyk), top welterweight contenders Johnny Hendricks and Matt Brown facing off, big men (and names) Alistair Overeem and Roy Nelson butting heads, and former Olympic hero Henry Cejudo opening up the PPV.
