Tyron Woodley is out of the race to potentially headline UFC 230.
The UFC welterweight champion will undergo surgery on his right hand, which is estimated to put him on the sidelines anywhere from eight to 12 weeks.
MMA Fighting confirmed the news Friday following a report by ESPN.
Woodley’s injury is a result of his last outing, a successful title defense against Darren Till which took place earlier this month in the main event of UFC 228. Woodley, who’s held the UFC welterweight belt since 2016, suffered a dislocated thumb, tearing three ligaments.
