Tyron Woodley out for 8-12 weeks due to surgery from hand injury

Early this week, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley stated that he was willing to return as early as UFC 230 to defend his title against Colby Covington. However, that is dependent on whether or not he will be receiving clearance from his doctors.

As he told ESPN in a recent interview, Woodley dislocated his thumb during his most recent title defense against Darren Till early this month, where he tore three ligaments.

”They are doing a shoestring surgery to provide more stability for my hand and minimize the potential arthritis,” Woodley said, speaking about the extent of his injury.
