'TUF' winner Norman Parke released from UFC

A winning Octagon record wasn't enough to save Norman Parke. The one-time 'TUF Smashes' winner announced Friday via Facebook that he had been released from the UFC.

Parke (21-5-1) made his UFC debut in 2012 as a member of Team UK on 'The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes,' where he won a trio of decisions over Richie Vaculik, Brendan Loughnane, and Colin Fletcher to claim the season's lightweight crown.

The 29-year-old native of Northern Ireland went on to achieve immediate success inside the Octagon, rolling to an undefeated 4-0-1 record to kick off his UFC career.
