Trevin Jones had the perfect UFC debut at UFC Vegas 7 in August, knocking out Timur Valiev to earn a $50,000 bonus. However Jones’ win has now been overturned to a no contest due to a positive marijuana test.
The Nevada Athletic Commission announced Wednesday that Jones’ win against Valiuev was overturned to a no contest. Jones was also suspended for four-and-a-half months by the NAC and fined $1,800, MMA Junkie revealed. The Guam-born fighter will have to pay a prosecution fee of $145.36 before he is relicensed in Las Vegas.
The bantamweight prospect Jones joins a long list of UFC fighters who have been handed suspensions due to marijuana use.
