Tony Ferguson: There’s no way fans will allow ‘irrelevant’ Conor McGregor to get title shot over me

UFC president Dana White still hasn’t confirmed who will challenge the winner of Saturday’s highly anticipated lightweight title unification bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier, but fans believe Tony Ferguson should get the next title shot.

The wild card, of course, is former two-division champion Conor McGregor, who is undoubtedly the biggest star in MMA. The Irishman was submitted by Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 but a rematch with ‘The Eagle’ would likely surpass the first fight as one of the biggest PPV events in UFC history,

Ferguson, however, believes McGregor has become an ‘irrelevant’ fighter and claims fans will never allow ‘The Notorious’ to get the next title shot over himself.
