Tony Ferguson will have the chance to avenge the lone loss of his Octagon tenure when he meets Michael Johnson at UFC 197 on March 5.
Promotion officials announced the lightweight contest on Thursday. UFC 197 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by a 155-pound championship clash between Rafael dos Anjos and Conor McGregor. In the co-main event, Holly Holm will defend the bantamweight belt against Miesha Tate.
Ferguson has established himself as one of the promotion’s top lightweight contenders since losing a unanimous decision to Johnson at UFC on Fox 3 in May 2012.
