A close, competitive fight between ex-champ T.J. Dillashaw and Cory Sandhagen led to a split with the judges, but it was Dillashaw who captured two of three scorecards to take the win in the UFC Vegas 32 headliner.
Dillashaw earned two scores of 48-47 while one judge dissented for Sandhagen by the same score. Official scorecards released by the UFC after the event show judges were unified on all but the final two rounds of the five-round main event.
Judges Derek Cleary, Sal D’Amato and Junichiro Kamijo – all veteran MMA judges who’ve scored dozens of high-profile UFC fights – had the fight at 29-28 heading into the fourth round, with Dillashaw taking Rounds 1 and 3 and Sandhagen capturing Round 2.
