Former Strikeforce title challenger and UFC middleweight, Tim Kennedy has officially announced his retirement.
Kennedy (18-6) began his career in 2001. He stepped into the cage against a dangerous Scott Smith and didn’t get started on the right foot. His mixed martial arts journey began with a 0-1 record.
Following that loss, Kennedy went on to win eight in a row and continued forward into a very illustrious Strikeforce career. He challenged not once, but twice for that company’s middleweight gold, but came up short in both outings against Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and former UFC middleweight title holder Luke Rockhold.
