Before his limousine riding, jet flying, belt stealing, UFC number one contender Conor McGregor was getting choked out in dominate fashion at a Cage Warriors event. Check the tape. At the time fellow European prospect Joseph Duffy and McGregor walked to the cage at Cage Warriors 39 with slightly different levels of hype behind them.
Duffy was the undefeated favorite going into the fight; then he walked down a young McGregor and obliterated all of his defenses. Both Irishmen were 22 years old at the time of their fight. Fast forward five years later and McGregor his anchoring the UFC's international fight week card while Duffy recently moved to 1-0 under the UFC banner.
