Gina Carano was instrumental in clearing the path down which Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino, Ronda Rousey, Amanda Nunes and others like them ultimately walked. She will celebrate her 40th birthday on April 16.
The former EliteXC and Strikeforce headliner walked away from the sport following a 2009 defeat to the aforementioned Justino, exiting the stage with a stellar 7-1 record that saw her secure victories over Rosi Sexton, Julie Kedzie, Kaitlin Young and Tonya Evinger. Carano later shifted her attention and talents to film and television, as she starred in “Haywire,” “Fast & Furious 6,” “Deadpool” and “The Mandalorian.
