Carlos Condit was for years one of the most violent men in mixed martial arts and more than lived up to “The Natural Born Killer” moniker he bore. The Albuquerque, New Mexico, native celebrates his 40th birthday on April 26.
Condit rose to prominence in the World Extreme Cagefighting promotion, where he captured the vacant welterweight crown with a second-round rear-naked choke submission of John Alessio in the WEC 26 main event on March 24, 2007. He successfully retained the title on three occasions—he beat Brock Larson, Carlo Prater and Hiromitsu Miura in succession—before crossing over to the Ultimate Fighting Championship as part of the UFC-WEC merger.
