Thiago Alves will be 15-pounds lighter in his next UFC bout. The former welterweight title challenger announced on social media last week that he is moving down to the lightweight division and is targeting a return to action in August.

It should be noted that the Brazilian announced a drop down to 155-pounds last summer, and that never ended up happening. Alves has had trouble making weight on two occasions in his career at welterweight, so it will be interesting to see if he's physically able to hit the lightweight limit, especially with USADA's IV ban in place.
