To mixed martial arts fans, the name ‘Fedor’ prompts emotions of both nostalgia and disappointment.
A little over six years ago, the Russian was on a twenty-seven fight win streak and had just defeated Andrei Arlovski in spectacular fashion. Following the collapse of the Affliction organization in which he had been participating in, fight fanatics began licking their chops at the prospect of Fedor entering the UFC and challenging then-champion Brock Lesnar.
Yet, it never happened due to Emelianenko’s stingy management team and the world was deprived at what would have been the biggest superfight in heavyweight history.
