A middleweight contest between Thales Leites and Jack Hermansson was officially announced for UFC’s upcoming pay-per-view event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on May 12. Combate first reported the news.
Leites (27-8) is looking to get back on track following a unanimous decision defeat to Brad Tavares at UFC 216. The Brazilian middleweight has bounced between wins and losses since 2016, going 2-4 over the past six bouts after a 5-0 run in the Octagon between 2013 and 2015.
Hermansson (16-4) has only lost twice since joining the UFC in 2016, with both of those defeats taking place in Brazil.
