Rising strawweight Weili Zhang will get a big step-up in competition at UFC 235.
Zhang is scheduled to meet top contender Tecia Torres on the card, which takes place March 2 in Las Vegas. UFC officials announced the pairing Thursday.
Zhang (18-1) is coming off a recent submission win over former WSOF champ Jessica Aguilar last weekend at UFC Beijing. Zhang dominated Aguilar en route to an armbar finish in the first round. Prior to that, she defeated Danielle Taylor in her promotional debut. Zhang is riding an impressive 18-fight winning streak.
Torres (10-3) is on a two-fight skid, with losses to former strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and ex-title challenger Jessica Andrade.
