Submission Underground returns tonight for the first time in nearly two months with Submission Underground 27. The headliner brings back champion Mason Fowler to defend his belt for the eighth time against Gabriel Checco. The originally scheduled challenger, Kyle Boehm, earned his shot at Fowler after winning the tournament at Submission Underground 24. He was forced to pull out of this match, but will be next in line for today’s winner. Checco steps in on the back of two straight wins with SUG, including his most recent win being a 48-second submission over UFC light heavyweight Danilo Marques at Submission Underground 26.
