UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic can see clearly again, but he’s not quite ready to eye his next title defense just yet.
The Ohio native, who was named Pro Athlete of the Year at the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards this week, revealed after the ceremony that he’s finally been cleared to return to action after a lengthy layoff due to an injury sustained in his title fight win over Daniel Cormier this past August.
Miocic suffered damage to his retina after dealing with inadvertent eye pokes, which was a similar issue he raised after his first fight with Cormier in 2018.
