The #8 ranked Welterweight is looking to take his time getting to the top of the division, and wants #9 ranked Tarec Saffiedine next.
Stephen Thompson (11-1) is looking to take things slowly on his way to an eventual title shot in the Welterweight division. The 32-year-old's recent knockout victory against Jake Ellenberger (30-10) put him into the Top 10 of the division.
Although this gives Thompson the chance to fight the best of the best in the division, "Wonderboy" is content with improving his skills until he feels he's ready for the elite.
