South Korean Doo Ho Choi not thinking about mandatory military service - 'I’ve got about three years to play around'

There aren't many better ways to impress upon arrival than finishing your first three Octagon appearances by way of first-round knockout. Despite being an unknown name among casual fight fans, that's the type of success that South Korean featherweight Doo Ho Choi has forged since his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut in 2014. Unfortunately for "The Korean Superboy," who remains just 25 years of age, his UFC efforts may eventually be cut short due to South Korea's two-year military service mandate.

If Choi does have to trade in his mixed martial arts (MMA) gloves for some military fatigues, his fighting career will suffer the same fate as fellow South Korean Chan Sung Jung, better known as "Korean Zombie," who was forced to serve his mandate after losing a title bid opposite Jose Aldo at UFC 163 (Jung has since returned).
