China is celebrating its historic new UFC strawweight champion Weili Zhang, but don’t forget about another rising Chinese MMA star.
Bantamweight Song Yadong is set to face Cody Stamann at UFC on ESPN in Washington DC on December 7th. Washington Post’s Gene Yang first reported the news, with UFC officials confirming shortly thereafter.
Yadong (14-3, 2 NCs) is a perfect 4-0 inside the Octagon, and most recently flattened Alejandro Perez with a brutal and very impressive one-punch KO at UFC 239. His other UFC victories have come against Bharat Khandare (at featherweight), Felipe Arantes, and Albert Morales.
