Silva's undergoes successful surgery, will need four to six weeks recovery

Following inflammation in his gallbladder just four days ahead of UFC 198, Anderson Silva was forced to withdraw from the event to undergo emergency surgery this Wednesday. According to Dr. Marcio Tannure, Silva's personal physician, the procedure went well and 'The Spider' will be able to return home in two days.

However, he will need from four to six weeks to return to his activities, as he told Combate.

"He started feeling abdominal pains on Monday, he went through blood tests on Tuesday which showed nothing unusual. He returned home and the pain continued, alongside a fever, so he called me.
