Sijara Eubanks won’t be vying for the inaugural women’s flyweight crown on Friday night as originally planned, but she still has designs on eventually becoming a UFC champion.
Eubanks made her way to finals of “The Ultimate Fighter 26” as a 12 seed, besting Maia Stevenson, DeAnna Bennett and Roxanne Modafferi to set up a showdown with Nicco Montano for 125-pound gold. However, the UFC released a statement on Thursday revealing that Eubanks had been hospitalized and pulled from the bout against Montano, with Modafferi taking her place in the title bout at "The Ultimate Fighter 26" finale.
