If it looked like things went downhill fast Mauricio Rua after the first round of his rematch with Paul Craig, there could be a good reason why.
Rua was forced to tap to strikes on Saturday in the main card opener of UFC 255 in Las Vegas, resulting in a second-round TKO loss to Craig. It was the first loss for Shogun in his past four outings, which includes a split draw against Craig at UFC Sao Paulo in November of last year.
On Sunday, Shogun shared a photo of an elbow injury that he supposedly suffered in the first round as well as a message in which he explained the circumstances while still giving credit to Craig for the win.
