Japanese star Shinya Aoki earned another shot at the ONE lightweight belt Saturday.
The former champion met Ev Ting in a lightweight title eliminator at ONE: Kingdon of Heroes in Bangkok, Thailand, and scored his third first-round stoppage in a row, taking Ting to the ground, going the month and quickly locking an arm-triangle choke to put Ting to sleep in just 57 seconds.
Aoki, who lost the ONE belt to Eduard Folayang back in 2016, is now expected to get the next crack at the lightweight gold.
Making his return to the ONE ring for the first time since 2016, Muin Gafurov scored the biggest win of his career against UFC veteran Leandro Issa.
