At this weekend’s UFC Vegas 7: Munhoz vs. Edgar event Shana Dobson earned Performance of the Night honours by finishing Mariya Agapova with a second round TKO. Many have called Dobson’s win an upset, but few could have known just how high the odds were stacked against the 31-year-old.
On twitter Nick Kalikas of MMAOddsBreaker announced that Dobson’s win over Agapova was the “biggest upset in UFC history!” (ht Adam Martin bjpenn.com).
Kalikas, a professional odds maker for Vegas based sportsbook Circa Sports, backed up his claim by revealing that odds on Dobson winning closed at +1150, with Agapova favoured with odds of -1900.
