Sergey Kovalev will put his WBO light heavyweight belt on the line when he takes on undefeated Anthony Yarde.
The Russian was originally rumored to be facing Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, but turned it down to fight in his home country against Yarde. According to Kovalev's manager Egis Klimas, Kovalev will fight "Canelo" in November or December if he gets by Yarde.
Kovalev (33-3-1) is coming off of a decision win over Eleider Alvarez in February to reclaim the WBO belt. Before that, he was shockingly stopped by E. Alvarez to lose the WBO and IBA light heavyweight title.
