Up-and-coming bantamweight “Suga” Sean O’Malley will be fighting on what figures to be one of the biggest events in UFC history.
O’Malley confirmed to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani on Monday that not only does he have a new four-fight contract, but he’s set to face Jose Alberto Quinonez at UFC 229 on October 6th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Originally, O’Malley was targeting a fight with Alejandro Perez, but Perez is out until December with injury.
Signed off of a spectacular KO of Alfred Khashakyan on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, O’Malley (10-0) is an exciting unbeaten prospect who has notched decision wins over Terrion Ware and Andre Soukhamthath in his two UFC outings.
