U.K. lightweight Ryan Scope is out of his co-main event clash with Derek Campos at Bellator Birmingham on May 4 due to injury.
On Sunday, the former BAMMA lightweight champion took to Instagram to reveal his forced withdrawal, apologizing to Campos and noting that he will be ready to return at Bellator’s unconfirmed Dublin date that has been earmarked for September.
Bellator confirmed the news to MMA Fighting and highlighted that the hunt for a replacement opponent for Campos is underway.
Scope (11-2-0) was set to make his second appearance under the Bellator banner on the night following his debut with the promotion in February.
