On Thursday, February 7, Russian boxer Alexander Kostromin was found murdered in the Belgorod region of Russia.
Local authorities discovered Kostromin’s body near his residence and confirmed that the 29-year-old boxer was killed in a fatal shooting. Reports later revealed that the boxer was found with eight gunshot wounds in his body. The murderer allegedly fled the scene in a Lada Priora car and is yet to be apprehended.
According to reports, Kostromin often posted about criminals on his social network pages, though it remains unclear why the boxer was targeted.
Kostromin graduated from the Belgorod State University in 2010 and went on to claim a gold medal at the Russian Boxing Championships as a light-heavyweight competitor.
