Ruslan Magomedov claims USADA anti-doping violation stemmed from ‘dietary supplement’

Shortly after a staph infection forced Ruslan Magomedov out of his scheduled UFC 204 match-up against Stefan Struve, the Dagestani heavyweight was informed of a potential anti-doping violation.

According to the UFC’s statement on the incident, Magomedov’s potential violation stemmed from a September 7 sample collection.

“The UFC organization was notified that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Ruslan Magomedov of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection made on September 7, 2016,” the UFC said in a prepared statement.

“USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case.
