Rousimar Palhares will be back in action on April 2, but not in an MMA bout.
Palhares, who holds a record of 18-6 in mixed martial arts with 15 submission finishes, is slated to grapple fellow heel hook specialist Garry Tonon in a no-gi match in the main event of Polaris Pro 3, the promotion announced Friday. Polaris Pro 3 takes place at the Lighthouse Centre in Poole, England.
Palhares vs. Tonon is a 15-minute match, and both fighters have to weigh in at 83kg (182.9 pounds), Palhares’ camp told MMAFighting.com.
"Toquinho", who tapped Shields with a kimura to defend his belt, has won four straight since cutting down to 170 pounds, all via submission.
