Rousimar Palhares and Jake Shields given temporary suspensions by NAC

World Series of Fighting welterweights Rousimar Palhares and Jake Shields were given temporary suspensions at today's NAC hearing.

World Series of Fighting welterweights Rousimar Palhares and Jake Shields were handed temporary suspensions by the Nevada Athletic Commission for unsportsmanlike conduct. Both fighters were suspended for their actions during and after their fight at World Series of Fighting 22. Palhares won the fight by submission in the 3rd round. Palhares held the kimura submission long after Shield tapped out, an action that has seen him previously suspended in 2010.

Shields received the temporary suspension for punching Palhares in retaliation after the fight had been stopped by referee Steve Mazzagatti.
